Elizabeth’s been out of town quite a bit since we got back into the air, so she went out to get comfortable in the plane this weekend and get a few more of our “5 hours” of flight testing that’s probably required for our probably major changes over the winter. It happens that my company was having it’s fall outing at Kings Island amusement park, so she went for a couple of laps of the park and did several landings.
I’m still playing with the camera mount now that the interior is in, and I really like where it is for seeing what’s going on in the cockpit, and I think I’ll start mounting the old camera (or vice-versa, they’re dimensionally the same Contour cameras) on the glare shield to get a better view out the window as you can’t see quite enough as it is. Also, the camera is great at automatically adjusting the exposure, but it can’t handle a dark cockpit and bright exterior simultaneously. You’ll notice, for instance, if you watch carefully you can see the traffic warning pop up on the EFIS and you can see when the airspeed reaches the yellow arc, etc. Anyway, check out the videos.
