ObsoleteWe are currently running without an air filter as it restricted engine RPM.

We’ve built the air filter box by making a male mold with some blue foam large enough to clear the filter media and flange out. The filter will have AL plates on both sides so we can clamp it air tight. The flat side simply has a duct transition riveted with structural adhesive under, and the the fiberglass side is cut to let the media protrude into the glass plenum, which also has a duct transition glued and riveted to it. Since the wing is on now, we probably won’t mount this for real until after we’ve flown some. It’s not really required, and it’ll be a screaming nightmare to mount with the wing on, I think, but we’ll see.
