Well, I’d been meaning to test our ELT, but not this way. I was busy working on the plane, my usual “Christmas Holiday” work-a-thon, and I must have clipped the manual switch across ground or something as we got a call from the SAR unit in Oklahoma on the cell phone. They were reading my ELT on the satellite while I was in a closed metal hangar, no less. Pretty embarrassing, I assure you, but good to know that it works.
