Here are some pictures of the V-Raptor, a Velocity knock-off. It is actually really different than the Velocity, but the heritage is very clear. It’s longer and wider, has a swept canard and heavily rounded strake leading edge, “FireFly” style twin vertical stabilizer booms, a sturdier retractable gear system, and a completely redesigned elevator system to name a few of the highlights.

It also is supported Jeff Kerlo, who was involved in the Velocity XL plugs and molds off and on for many years, and our old friend Scott Baker. Their market model is builder-assistance only (in their “V-Rap Very Rapid” assembly center at Sebastian) and top of the line costs, so it doesn’t really compete with the Velocity in my opinion, I don’t think our folks would spend that kind of money. But then again Duane has mentioned that some guys show up wanting to just write a check for someone to give them an airplane, so maybe I’m wrong, maybe I just don’t run with that crowd. We wish the best for Scott in whatever he does, but we’re clearly in the Velocity camp.
