So the Fox is ready to fly. I think. The last time my airplane departed Lebanon-Warren County Airport she didn’t return on her own power, but rather fell impotently from the sky ahead of a windmilling blade. Confidence is a funny thing, in it’s ebb and flow. But riding your baby to a highway landing glider style will destroy it, I can nearly guarantee it. Which brings me to the plight of the test pilot. Where does the confidence to come from? Sure Dave flew C-130s in hurricanes, so nearly anything seems pedestrian by comparison. But, if we’re honest with each other, it doesn’t make it sensible. I want so desperately for everything to go well, but now it’s up to my preparations and Dave’s skill. God’s speed, Dave.
