Shortly after returning from Oshkosh we learned of the loss of Jack Morrison and his new, highly modified e-Racer near Aurora, IL. Jack was a great aviation friend. The kind of guy you’d see once or twice a year and fall right into conversation. He was a friendly and extremely helpful man, the kind of guy who would mail you pictures and templates to help you out even though he barely knew you. He was a wonderful craftsman whose worse finish work would make me blush, and I have no doubt his newest creation would’ve been a show winner. Jack liked to try new things, experiment, and teach the rest of us through his projects, and he had escaped the crash of his first e-Racer unscathed. Sadly luck is fickle, and this time it didn’t work out so well. This is a tough day, and one where it’s hard to find something constructive to say. Yet I feel I need to acknowledge his passing, and to appreciate the man that was. May God Bless his family.
