It was a busy Memorial Day weekend here. Dave flew in Friday afternoon and stayed most of Saturday installing our carpet before rushing home to beat storms closing in on Chicago. I did update the upholstery section on Saturday night, but didn’t have a chance to blog it, and I spent the rest of the weekend on my wiring upgrade project. It’s coming along well, I’ve finished up the cold side of the firewall, and in the nose. I still need to terminate everything in the engine compartment and replace the keel wiring, then test the trim systems, fuel pump, starter, and test lamps. I hope to finish that this week, though Lord knows I don’t estimate well, and I notice that Airventure is only 7 weeks away. That seems like a lot of time, but it’s really not. After I finish my wiring, I still need to move my pitch trim servo over a couple of inches to get it away from the radio stack as a minimum, then get my pitot/static and transponder re-certifications, then weight-and-balance, check everything on the ground, and get a few flights in so we feel good flying to Oshkosh. I expect to do, but I really planned to be further along than I am…
