I think I’m going to get my IFR ticket this year. My instructor Pete has talked with a local examiner about giving the check ride in our Velocity, and we’re good there. I’ve also started an IFR subscription to the Seattle Avonics data for the GRT HX we have in the airplane. Below are some screenshots, but they’re Geo-Referenced Airport diagrams, IFR High and Low enroute charts, sectionals, and approach plates. Pretty cool. Admittedly, I still need to learn a bunch about how to capture a localizer and/or ILS on my GRT, heck I haven’t even used the VOR on it yet, the RAIM GPS is so good, but I’ll need to do all of that, as well as buy (at some point) the GTN 650 enroute certified GPS radio.
