Elizabeth and I went flying together this weekend, and she let me handle the preflight, take-off, and about 45 minutes of flying from the right seat. We had a stationary front right over us, though, so there was a NOTAM for ‘moderate turbulence’ below 8,000′ and gusty winds, so I didn’t get any landings in. I’m still trying to get some transition time in our plane with Dave Bertram, if possible, but I’ll get some right seat time there and there with Elizabeth in the meantime. After the factory training, I’m probably fine to fly my plane, but there’s no sense in not being careful either. Ideally Dave can get Elizabeth and Pete (my instructor) comfortable landing from the right seat and me in the left seat so we’re good to go no matter what combination wants to go flying. I hope to schedule something soon as I really want to start my instrument training.
