So, funny story, I went flying the other day and was struggling with the rather light crosswind. I just wasn’t feeling it, you know the feeling… I hadn’t flown in almost 4 months, and I was just not in the groove. Well, Saturday I went back out to really knock the rust off, and voila`. I pushed on the pilot (upwind) rudder it didn’t move. “Well that’s odd, the copilot rudder moves…”. Natch. It happens that I didn’t have that rudder the whole time last week. The best part is Elizabeth says, “Oh yea, I thought I heard something, and I looked at the rudder and didn’t think it was moving, but I just it must not move much in flight”. Well, I don’t need a lot of “the plane just broke” feedback in flight, but maybe on roll-out we could share? 🙂
