Here you can see we’ve glassed Triax over the stub-to-runner seam. I saw Andy do this and liked it. However, after it was cured I didn’t think it mated or “pushed up” enough on the seam to seal it. So I decided to retape the runner, lay some BID on there, schmooey across that to flatten it out, and bond my Triax slip joint piece to the whole deal. This really seems to have worked, so that when I tighten the edge up, the botton has good pressure across the seam.
