Forced landing on the beach at Tenerife.
All three passengers on board – a man, woman and 14-year-old teenager – walked away from the crash with injuries.
They are believed to be of French/ Belgian nationality, while one report has identified the pilot as British.
Arriving at the scene, emergency services had to cut through the wreckage to rescue the male passenger on board, who is reportedly in a serious condition with undisclosed abdominal injuries.
The female and teenager were fit enough to walk away from the scene of the crash.Speaking after the incident, the town’s local mayor said it was a “miracle” none of the passengers were killed in the crash.The light aircraft – which was on its way to Morocco – experienced “technical difficulties” before it went down.It had initially radioed Tenerife Norte Aiport to inform air traffic controllers it was going to make an emergency landing on the airport’s runway.
Swimmers were stunned to see the plane crash down onto the beach minutes later.
The three injured are currently being treated at La Candelaria Hospital.
According to Spanish newspaper El Pais, firefighters are working to remove fuel which leaked from the aircraft onto the beach, which will not reopen until it has been made safe.
